Man Facing Drug Charges |

| At approximately 7:15 p.m., the Burke County
Narcotics Task Force arrested Fred Barnes, age 48, of 6235 Rollins Park Drive,
Connelly Springs and charged him with possession with intent to sell and
deliver marijuana. Barnes was also charged with maintaining a place to keep a
controlled substance. |

| The Task Force received information from the
Caldwell County Narcotics Division in reference to Barnes trafficking
marijuana. With Caldwell County's assistance, a vehicle stop was conducted on
Martin Fish Pond Road in Hildebran. Located inside a 1983 Chevrolet truck
driven by Barnes was 1.3 lbs. of marijuana. The pickup was seized along with
$290.00 in cash. Barnes was jailed under a $10,000.00 secure bond. |
