TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN ARREST
 
On Thursday, April 12, 2000, members of the Burke County Narcotics Task Force, assisted by McDowell County Sheriff's Office and the Burke County Sheriff's Office, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling along Highway 64 in Morganton, North Carolina. The traffic stop was made due to information received that the occupant of the vehicle was in possession of a schedule II narcotic.
 
The occupant of the vehicle was identified as Jeffrey Michael Collingwood, 25 years old, of 5828-A Willow Point Drive in Morganton. Officers conducted a search of Collingwood and the vehicle. Officers located approximately three ounces of Cocaine valued at over $8,000. In addition to the Cocaine, officers found two dosage units of Alprazolam (Schedule IV), a small amount of Marijuana (Schedule IV), and digital scales.
 
Collingwood was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Cocaine. He was placed in the Burke County Jail (Downtown) under a $25,000 secured bond with a first appearance in Burke County District Court on Monday, April 17, 2000.
