| "Ecstasy" Drug

| On Friday, May 26, 2000, members of the Burke
County Narcotics Task Force assisted North Carolina Probation and Parole in
searching the residence of Christopher Michael Messick, 20, of 5827-A Willow
Point Drive, Morganton. An unknown pill was located at the residence and was
sent to the State Bureau of Investigation laboratory in Asheville for further
analysis. |

| The analysis revealed the pill to be
Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, a Schedule One controlled substance commonly
referred to on the street as
"ecstasy." |

| A warrant was issued for Messick's arrest and he
was taken into custody at his residence without incident. He was detained at
the Burke County Jail under a $15,000.00 secured bond and awaits a first
appearance on June 6. |
