ATV Accident Kills Drexel Man

An all-terrain vehicle accident on Bryant Rd. claimed the life of a 58 year old Drexel man on June 8.

Grady Trivette, Jr., of Bryant Rd. in Drexel was killed when his ATV overturned, pinning him underneath. Trivette died at the scene.

According to Investigator Tom Rhyne, Trivette had received information that a business partner was involved in a separate accident on Bryant Rd. Trivette drove his ATV to the scene of that accident to check on his partner; however no one was at the crash site.

Trivette apparently attempted to leave the accident scene by crossing over a ditch recently cleaned out by road crews. Rhyne states that the ATV began to spin in the soft soil, causing it to overturn and pin Trivette underneath.

Trivette's death has been ruled an accident. The vehicle accident involving Trivette's business partner is being investigated by the N.C. State Highway Patrol.
