| Sparks Arrested for Shooting into
Residence |

| Det. Tom Rhyne reports the arrest of a man for
allegedly firing a 12 gauge shotgun into the residence of a Hickory
man. |

| On January 14th, Roy Lee Sparks went to Lot #4
on Cathryn Lane in Hickory and discharged a shot through the front window of
Jimmy Dean Ryder's home, according to Rhyne. The shot went through the ceiling
of Ryder's living room. |

| The house was occupied at the time by Ryder, Pam
Sparks and her two teenage sons, Rhyne stated. He advised the shooting was
the result of a "longtime disagreement." |

| Roy Sparks was charged with one count of
shooting into an occupied dwelling and placed in the Burke County Jail under a
$25,000 secured bond. He has a first appearance in Burke County District Court
on January 17th. |
