Hale Arrested for Drugs Again
 
A western Burke County man is in trouble with the law again on drug charges. 
 
Ronald Erwin Hale of 1568 Silvers Street, Morganton was arrested after a Burke County Narcotics Task Force Officer allegedly witnessed a January 30th drug transaction on Bouchelle Street involving Hale. 
 
According to a news release, the officer observed a Ford Mustang with two persons inside being handed something by two persons standing at the car. As the officer passed by, the Mustang drove away and the two persons on foot left the area. 
 
The officer stopped the Mustang on Tate Street and found Hale to be the driver. A search of the vehicle and two persons inside resulted in a crack cocaine rock being found in the driver's seat.
 
Hale, who was charged in September, 2000 and January, 2001 for possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, was charged with felony possession of cocaine and maintaining a place for controlled substance (the Mustang). The mustang was seized by law enforcement. 
 
The passenger in the Mustang was not charged. Ronald Hale faces a first court appearance on January 31st was placed under a $50,000 secured bond while he awaits trial on these charges.
