| Woman Arrested on First Degree
Burglary |
| |
| A Morganton woman from the Salem community faces
a first degree burglary charge after allegedly breaking into a home on February
17th and assaulting two people, according to BCSO Detective Andrea
Whalen. |
| |
| At approximately 1:29 a.m., Aurora Chambers of
3495 Nelson Lane reported to the Burke County Sheriff's Office that an
intoxicated female with a butcher knife was inside her residence threatening to
kill her. |
| |
| Deputies arrived on the scene to find Geishila
Gadson, 36, of 301-A Salem Road standing in the driveway with an "asp" baton.
Gadson was taken into custody after officers spoke with Chambers, Whalen
stated. |
| |
| Chambers told Det. Whalen she was asleep in her
bedroom with her boyfriend, Marty Gadson. She was awakened by Marty yelling at
Geishila Gadson, who was standing in the hallway with what appeared to be a
knife. Chambers stated to investigators that she was struck by Geishila
Gadson, who exited the residence and was later located by the deputies in the
driveway area. Chambers sustained minor injuries from the assault, Whalen
said. |
| |
| Prior to the arrival of officers, Gadson
reportedly broke several windows on Marty Gadson's automobile. A window was
also discovered broken at the rear of the house. |
| |
| Gadson was placed in the Burke Catawba District
Confinement Facility under a $25,000.00 bond. Her first court appearance is set
for February 19th. |
