Rape Report Unfounded

A Hudson woman is in trouble after investigators learned a rape she reported on May 2nd was false.

Juanita Ann Seagle, 19, was living at a Hudson Lane residence in Morganton in April and reported that the son of her tenant had raped her on April 3rd.

According to Detective Kim Britt, information obtained in the follow up investigation showed discrepancies in Seagle's story. Seagle was interviewed again at the Sheriff's Office on May 21st, where she admitted her report to be false.

Seagle was charged with filing a false report to law enforcement. She was placed under a $500 secured bond and is awaiting trial.
