Charged with Vehicle Theft |

A Morganton man
got more than he bargained for Friday when he discovered the wreck victim he
was assisting stole his truck, investigators say. The wrecked truck belonged to
the would-be good Samaritan.
David Edwards of 5252 Ponderosa Road told
investigators he was sleeping when Ricky Lee Adams (left), of 6536 Globe Road, Lenoir knocked on his door
requesting assistance. |

| According to Detective Andrea Whalen, Adams told
Edwards he had wrecked his truck and needed help. When Edwards went outside, he
discovered the wrecked vehicle to be his. |

| Adams was charged with larceny of a motor
vehicle and jailed under a $10,000 secured bond. He will have a first court
appearance on Monday. |

| The N.C. State Highway Patrol assisted in the
wreck investigation. |
