Issued in Tool Thefts; Auto Larceny |

Two teenagers are
facing felonious charges in two separate cases occurring in October and
November of 2001.
According to Detective Aaron Carver of the Burke
County Sheriff's Office, Kristopher Keith Childers (left), 19, of 2861 Brown Mountain Beach Road was arrested
and placed in the Burke Catawba District Confinement Facility after being
charged with felonious breaking and entering, larceny, and possession of stolen
goods. |

Christopher Ward (right), 19, of 3706 #6
Jamestown Road, Morganton are accused of breaking into an outbuilding belonging
to Jim Douglas Conner of 3251 Peterson Road on October 30th.
The pair
allegedly broke a lock off of the building door and stole a pressure washer,
chainsaw, weedeater, cultivator, and tool box with assorted tools. |

| Childers and Ward are also the suspects in a
November 26th auto theft reported by Jimmy Lane Steele of 2617 Barrier Loop,
Morganton. Steele's 1990 Chevrolet Corsica was recovered two days later on
Highway 181 near Brown Mountain Beach Road. |

| Ward was placed under a $500 unsecured bond in
the breaking and entering, but has not been served the warrants in connection
with the felonious larceny and possession of stolen goods, Carver said. His
first court appearance is set for today. |

| Childers bond was set at $12,000 secured and he
has a first court appearance today. |
