Detective David
Warlick of the Burke County Sheriff's Office said the two were caught after the
owner of Foothills Marine on North Green Street called Morganton authorities.
The owner told the dispatcher he was following a red Ford Ranger truck towing a
Triton bass boat, which had just been stolen from his place of
business.
Morganton Public Safety officers stopped the truck near I-40
and Highway 18 and arrested the two. |
 |
|
| Casey and Walker were turned over to Burke
deputies later, since the reported theft was in the jurisdiction of the
Sheriff's Office. Both men were jailed under a $10,000 secured bond and have
first court appearances on February 13th. |
| |
| Casey was also charged with driving without a
license, Warlick said. |
