Arrests Made in Ridge Court Break-In

Two detectives, picking up pawn tickets at a local pawn shop, arrested a Morganton man attempting to pawn merchandise reportedly stolen during a recent burglary.

Detectives Aaron Carver and Robert Beall say they witnessed Timothy Ray McCracken (left), 21, of Harrison Carswell Road try to pawn a Nintendo 64 play station and several games on March 15th around 3:15 P.M.

A breaking, entering and larceny report had been filed with the Sheriff's Office two days earlier by Brian R. Lockard of 3532 Ridge Court in Morganton. Lockard reported someone had broken into his residence and stolen two Nintendo 64 play stations and approximately fifteen games. A shotgun, VCR, rifle, light bulbs, skill saw, and $225 were also reportedly stolen.

After encountering McCracken at the pawn shop, the investigators intensified the investigation which led to McCracken's arrest. Also arrested in the case was James Nicholas Woody (right), 19, of 3909 Leger Road, Valdese.

McCracken and Woody were both charged with felonious breaking, entering and larceny and felonious possession of stolen goods. They were jailed under $10,000 and $3,000 bonds, respectively.

Warrants have also been issued on a third suspect, Christopher Jesse Erickson (right), 18, of 62 Lewis Drive, Marion. He has not been arrested as of today.

In an unrelated matter, the Sheriff's Office holds another warrant on Erickson for unauthorized use of a conveyance, detectives said.

McCracken had a first court appearance yesterday and Woody's initial appearance is today.
