Rudisill Facing Sex Offense Charges

Sheriff's detectives arrested a 35-year-old Morganton man on April 4th after deputies responded to a reported sexual assault.

An unnamed victim accused Gary Daniel Rudisill (right) of 4586 Highway 18 South of raping her several times at his residence over the weekend beginning March 29th, according to detectives. Rudisill was charged after detectives interviewed him and gathered enough evidence for an arrest.

Detectives searched the residence and seized evidence which was pertinent to the crime, an investigator said.

The victim and three children were reportedly taken into protective custody by the Department of Social Services.

Rudisill was charged with first degree statutory sexual offense, first degree statutory rape, and taking indecent liberties with a child. Other charges are pending, according to authorities.

A $100,000 secured bond was set for Rudisill.
