| Another
Burke/Alexander Case Leads to Arrests |
| |
| Another drug case involving Burke and Alexander
County officers and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation has led to the
arrest of a 41-year-old Taylorsville man. |
| |
Charles Leon Moose III (right), of 120 Davidson Court in Taylorsville was
arrested Tuesday during a drug transaction at an undisclosed Morganton
motel.
Officers reportedly seized approximately half an ounce of
methamphetamine and ten ounces of cocaine powder, which has a total value of
approximately $30,000. Also seized was a vehicle, a handgun and $10,600 in
currency. |
 |
|
| According to a news release by the Burke
County Narcotics Task Force, a related search was later conducted in Alexander
County, where a stolen vehicle was located. Moose is facing additional charges,
detectives said, and other suspects are expected to be arrested in this
case. |
| |
| Moose was charged with trafficking in controlled
substances (cocaine) and possession with intent to sell and deliver
amphetamine. He was jailed under a $25,000 bond and will have a first court
appearance on April 12th. |
| |
| Moose's arrest is the third in a recent joint
investigation by Burke and Alexander County officers. Last week, authorities
made two other drug arrests in a
separate case which began in Burke. |
