Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Four
 
Four persons were arrested Monday on drug charges during a traffic stop on South Anderson Street.

assist after officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety told them they had recovered a gun from the vehicle. A complete search of the vehicle and each
suspect was conducted, reportedly resulting in the confiscation of power cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana and currency.


Arrested and charged with
felony possession of

Xavier Avery
cocaine and possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine were Chali Demon Young, 23, of 1312 Oak Hill Drive, Morganton; Tristan Jamar Means, 19, of 310 Huffman Street, Morganton; Brandon Maurice Beam, 20, of 1440 Avery Road, Morganton; and Xavier Allen Avery, 17, of 102 Jones Street, Morganton. The four are facing additional charges, detectives said.
 
Investigators also seized a 1991 Cadillac in the case.  
 
Young and Means were jailed under $25,000 bonds, and Avery and Beam's bond was set at $10,000. A first court appearance is set for today.
