| Traffic
Stop Leads to Arrest of Four |

Four persons were arrested
Monday on drug charges during a traffic stop on South Anderson
Street.
An investigator with the Burke County Narcotics Task Force was
called to |

assist after officers with the Morganton Department of
Public Safety told them they had recovered a gun from the vehicle. A complete
search of the vehicle and each |
suspect was
conducted, reportedly resulting in the confiscation of power cocaine, crack
cocaine, marijuana and currency.
Arrested and charged with felony
possession of |

 Xavier Avery |
cocaine and possession with intent to sell and deliver
cocaine were Chali Demon Young, 23, of 1312 Oak Hill Drive, Morganton; Tristan
Jamar Means, 19, of 310 Huffman Street, Morganton; Brandon Maurice Beam, 20, of
1440 Avery Road, Morganton; and Xavier Allen Avery, 17, of 102 Jones Street,
Morganton. The four are facing additional charges, detectives said. |

| Investigators also seized a 1991 Cadillac in the
case. |

| Young and Means were jailed under $25,000 bonds,
and Avery and Beam's bond was set at $10,000. A first court appearance is set
for today. |
