Arrested for Statutory Rape of 12-Year-Old |

| An Icard teen was arrested June 5th after a two
week investigation and charged with the first degree statutory rape of a
twelve-year-old girl. |

| Robert Daniel Wofford, 17, of 2544 Icard
Rhodhiss Road was charged with the sexual assault, which allegedly occurred on
August 8, 2001. A detective stated the arrest came after a detailed interview
and statement was obtained from the child. |
| |
| Wofford was placed in the Burke Catawba District
Confinement Facility under a $25,000 secured bond and will have a first court
appearance today. |
