Checkpoint Leads to Drug Arrests |

| Two men were arrested Wednesday at a license
checkpoint after officers discovered controlled substances inside their
vehicle. |
| |
| The Burke County Sheriff's Office Traffic
Interdiction Unit was conducting the checkpoint at the intersection of Old 18
and Duckworth Circle when they encountered a vehicle occupied by Dominic
Perham, 29; and William Hlobil, 59. |
| |
| The officers located marijuana, marijuana seeds,
"Miracle Grow," and a pistol inside Perham's vehicle. |
| |
| The Burke County Narcotics Task Force was
contacted and a search was made of Perham and Hlobil's residence, located at
4931 Heavenly Lane, Morganton. Investigators reportedly located additional
marijuana, seeds, and marijuana plants. |

| Perham and Hlobil were charged with felonious
manufacturing of marijuana and maintaining a place for controlled substances.
Both men were placed under a $3,000 secured bond and will have a first court
appearance today. |
