| Man
Charged for Video Poker Game Violations |
| |
| A 63-year-old Morganton man is facing charges as
detectives cracked down on alleged video poker machine violations last
week. |
| |
| Detectives issued a criminal summons on Thomas
Tyson Conner of 5488 Mount Olive Church Road, Morganton after reportedly
discovering violations of the video poker law on July 12th at "Country
Cousins," a business owned by Conner. |
| |
| Acting on a tip, detectives entered the business
and found the machines hidden in a back room. According to one detective, the
plain view section of the video poker law states the video machines must be
visible upon entering the premises. |
| |
| The machines and an undisclosed amount of money
were seized. Conner, who reportedly was not in town at the time of the seizure,
will have a court date for July 26th. |
| |
| Assisting the Burke County Sheriff's Office in
this case was the Burke County Narcotics Task Force. |
