| Husband
and Wife Charged in Drug Raid |

| A lengthy investigation into drug activity led
to the raid of a Causby Road home by the Burke County Narcotics Task Force on
Monday. |
| |
| The Burke County Sheriff's Office S.W.A.T. team
executed a search warrant at the block house, located at the end of Duckworth
Hill Street off Causby Road in Morganton. |
| |
| The subsequent search netted approximately 3/4
of a pound of marijuana and currency, along with numerous pieces of evidence
showing drugs were being sold from the home, according to one
investigator. |
| |
| Charged with maintaining a residence to keep
controlled substances and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana
were Winford Lee Cox, 55; and Pamela Ann Dyson Cox, 40. Their address is listed
as 422 Causby Road. |
| |
| Both suspects were jailed under a $5,000 secured
bond and will have a first court appearance Wednesday. |
