Citizen Foils Store Break-In |

| A 911 call from an alert citizen aided deputies
in the capture of two teenagers accused of breaking into a local convenience
store. |

Around 4:30 a.m.
this morning, the citizen called the Burke County Sheriff's Office and reported
hearing loud banging sounds in the vicinity of Austin's #2 Store, located on
Zion Road. The resident also reported that a burglar alarm had been
activated.
The citizen reportedly saw a vehicle driving away from the
store. Deputies responding to the alarm located and stopped a red vehicle
traveling on Amherst Road. |

| Other responding officers found the store had
been burglarized. Upon investigation, deputies took two teenagers inside the
red vehicle into custody and later charged them with felonious breaking and
entering to the business. |

| Arrested were Jonathan Wayne Stogner, 18, of
2807 Messer Road, Valdese; and Christopher Glenn Clark, 16, of 4123 Clark's
Avenue, Valdese. |

| Stogner was jailed under a $10,000 secured bond
and Clark was released into the custody of his parents. Both teens will have a
first court appearance on November 13th in Burke County District Court. |

| Also assisting in the case was the Drexel Police
Department. |
