Around 4:30 a.m. this morning, the citizen called the Burke County Sheriff's Office and reported hearing loud banging sounds in the vicinity of Austin's #2 Store, located on Zion Road. The resident also reported that a burglar alarm had been activated.

The citizen reportedly saw a vehicle driving away from the store. Deputies responding to the alarm located and stopped a red vehicle traveling on Amherst Road.

Other responding officers found the store had been burglarized. Upon investigation, deputies took two teenagers inside the red vehicle into custody and later charged them with felonious breaking and entering to the business.

Arrested were Jonathan Wayne Stogner, 18, of 2807 Messer Road, Valdese; and Christopher Glenn Clark, 16, of 4123 Clark's Avenue, Valdese.

Stogner was jailed under a $10,000 secured bond and Clark was released into the custody of his parents. Both teens will have a first court appearance on November 13th in Burke County District Court.
