| |
A call to the Sheriff's
Office about a possible drug transaction in progress led to the arrest of a
Connelly Springs man Thursday.
The Burke County Sheriff's Office Traffic
Interdiction Team, along with officers from the Valdese Police Department
responded to the call at a Phillips 66 station on Malcolm Boulevard in
Rutherford College, where they encountered Thomas Ray McCoury (right), 44. |
 |
|
| According to Burke County Narcotics Task Force
officials, McCoury was found to be in possession of 1/2 pound of marijuana,
which was seized by investigators along with an undisclosed sum of
currency. |
| |
| McCoury, of 7116 Knobs Landing Road in Connelly
Springs, was jailed under a $10,000 secured bond and will have a first court
appearance today after being charged with possession with intent to
manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana. |
