Man Charged in Alleged Kidnaping

A Nebo man is accused of kidnaping another man and later assaulting him while he was held a gunpoint.

According to a press release by the Burke County Sheriff's Office, Jeffrey Ross Burleson (right), 48, of 7482 South Mountain Institute Road picked up Ted Olsen yesterday and took him to an undisclosed location. While there, Burleson and Olsen reportedly began arguing.

Olsen later told deputies Burleson pulled a handgun on him and began kicking and hitting him. Olsen's injuries did not require medical attention.

Burleson was later arrested for kidnaping and was confined in the Burke County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond. He has a first court appearance today, and additional charges are pending.
