| The Burke County Sheriff's Office announces the
arrests of two men for multiple break-ins of residences and vehicles, according
to a press release. |
| |
| Terry Lynn Snipes, 30, of 2871 Coldwater Street
was charged with seven counts of felonious breaking, entering and larceny, and
seven counts of felonious possession of stolen goods. He also was charged
with one count of felonious breaking and entering of a motor vehicle,
misdemeanor larceny, and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods. |

| Snipes was charged with the following
burglaries: |

- March 14, 2003 - Kenneth Houston reported someone entered
his residence and storage building located at 882 Cape Hickory Road, Hickory.
Firearms, coins, jewelry, knives, and various tools were stolen.
- March 27, 2003 - Charles Erskins reported someone broke
into his 1992 Ford Ranger truck and removed a camera and tools at 220 Main Ave.
East, Hildebran. The battery cables were reportedly cut by the suspects.
- March 28, 2003 - Robert Parker reported someone entered a
garage located at 1628 Warlick's Church Road and stole two weed eaters, two
chainsaws, and various tools.
- April 9, 2003 - Larry Frizzell reported the theft of
chainsaws, a leaf blower, and various tools from his storage building at 7033
Nolden Creek Road.
- April 10, 2003 - Donna Caldwell of 2820 Coldwater Street
reported a burglary of her residence, the suspect taking a monitor heater, cell
phone, and DVD player.
- April 11, 2003 - Ann Pritchard reported someone entered
her residence located at 2965 Messer Road and stole various pieces of
jewelry.
- April 14, 2003 - Ralph Huffman reported someone entered
his residence and removed a shotgun, rifle, coins, and a scanner.

| Additionally, Randy Dean Lail, 36, of 2709
Coldwater Street was charged with one count of felonious breaking, entering and
larceny and one count felonious possession of stolen goods in the March 14th
break-in of Houston's home. He was also charged with felonious breaking and
entering to a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession of
stolen goods in the March 27th break-in to Erskin's truck. |

| Lail was recently apprehended by a Burke County
deputy after being discovered allegedly
breaking into a Hildebran
Carwash on March 7th. |

| Snipes was jailed under a $100,000 secured bond,
and Lail was released on a written promise to appear in court, according to the
news release. Both men have first appearances in Burke County District Court on
April 16th. |
