Man Charged in City Drug Bust |
| |
A search warrant
executed by officers with the Burke County Narcotics Task Force and Morganton
Department of Public Safety resulted in the arrest of a Cleveland County man
Thursday.
Big Bill Wilson, Jr. (right) of
2504 Wildwood Drive, Shelby was charged with three counts of trafficking in
cocaine after officers reportedly arrested him at the home of his girlfriend.
Her residence is located at 204 South Anderson Street in Morganton. |
 |
|
| During the raid and subsequent search, officers
reportedly found thirty three rocks of crack cocaine in Wilson's pocket. An
additional twenty nine grams was found inside the residence. |
| |
| Investigators said they seized a 1994 Cadillac
from the residence after locating a handgun, currency and additional crack
cocaine inside the vehicle. |
| |
| The raid was the result of several months of
investigation into the residence, a detective said. The Task Force had received
several tips that Wilson was supplying several persons in the Morganton area
with drugs. |
| |
| Wilson was arrested and convicted in Morganton
back in 1998 for other drug charges, according to authorities. |
| |
| Wilson was jailed under a $25,000 secured bond
and has a first court appearance today. |
