| Convenience Store Break-in Solved |

Investigators
with the Burke County Sheriff's Office have charged a 22-year-old Morganton man
with the May 21st burglary of a Salem convenience store.
Detectives
allege Davis Carroll Mayfield (left), of 212
Barbour Drive broke out a front window at Garrison's Store and crawled
through bars on the front door of the business. A press release stated
approximately $2,000 was taken from the store. |

| Mayfield was arrested at a mobile home park on
Walker Road after a two-day investigation. He was charged with breaking,
entering and larceny, and possession of stolen goods. |

| Mayfield was jailed under a $25,000 secured bond
and has a first court appearance on Wednesday. |
