Investigators Search for Hildebran Bank Robber

Burke County detectives and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are searching for a man who robbed the First Citizens Bank in Hildebran on July 1st.

The man reportedly entered the bank, located at 109 South Center Street, around 5 p.m. He walked over to a table containing deposit slips and appeared to fill out one of the slips, according to detectives and bank surveillance photos.

Soon afterwards, the man approached one of the tellers and produced the slip which had a threatening note written on it, detectives said. The note reportedly instructed the teller to give him money.

The teller gave the robber an undisclosed amount of money and he left the bank without incident. No one was reportedly injured.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately 6'0 tall in his early to mid twenties. He is slender built with light brown hair and had a small amount of facial hair and side burns.

He was wearing a ball cap with the letters "USA" written on the front, along with a hooded sweatshirt with the letters "BONG" written across the front.

Anyone having information as to the identity of the man or information to the robbery is urged to contact the Burke County Sheriff's Office at (828) 438-5500, or Mike White of the FBI at (828) 322-8513.
