Task Force Busts Two for Meth Trafficking

Randall T. Moody

Kenneth R. Hildebrand

Investigators with the Burke County Narcotics Task Force arrested two Morganton men Tuesday and charged them with trafficking methamphetamine. More arrests are expected, they said.

The ongoing investigation resulted in the arrest of Randall Todd Moody, 35, of 2508 Carl Freeman Road, and Kenneth Robert Hildebrand, 36, of 204 Conley Road when officers executed a search at Hildebrand's home.

"Ice", the purest form of methamphetamine, was reportedly located in the house along with several other bags of meth. Also seized were several drug paraphernalia items and an undisclosed amount of currency.

In addition to both men being charged with three counts of trafficking methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell and deliver the drug, Moody was also served with an outstanding warrant for driving while license revoked. Both men have a first court appearance today as they remained jail under a $50,000 bond.
