Numerous
complaints from citizens in the Brown Mountain Beach Road area led to the
arrest of a local resident Wednesday.
Burke County Narcotics Task Force
members, along with the Sheriff's Office SWAT team, executed a search warrant
at the home of Maurice McArthur Jackson (right),
32, of 1832 Brown Mountain Beach Road, according to a Task Force press
release. |
 |
|
| |
| Jackson's residence had lately been under
surveillance due to complaints of possible drug activity, according to one
investigator. |

was located, according to investigators. Fleming reportedly lives at the same
address as Jackson. |
|

to sell and deliver marijuana. He was placed under a secured bond of $5,000.
Fleming was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine,
and was given a custody release. Additional charges are pending against the
two. |
