Members of the Burke County Narcotics Task Force and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation reportedly located a medium-sized methamphetamine laboratory during the execution of a search warrant yesterday.

The search of the 5641 John Reep Street residence in Morganton resulted in the arrests of David Wilkie Woodard, 48, and his son, Clint Leland Woodard, 18, of 1012 Highway 70 West, Glen Alpine.

Agents located the lab, along with other hazardous items consistent with methamphetamine production, according to a detective. Other items were located that are consistent with distributing narcotics, the detective said.

The men were placed under $25,000 secured bonds.

A hazardous waste disposal team was dispatched to the scene for disposal of the laboratory. Also assisting in the case were the West End Fire Department and the Burke County EMS.
