Another Meth Lab Bust; Huskins Charged

A Nebo woman was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine after authorities reportedly located a medium-sized illegal laboratory on July 26th.

Suzie Michelle Smith Huskins (right), 35, of 3606 Landis Lane was placed under a secured bond of $35,000 after law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at a Morganton home.

According to investigators, the search was conducted at 4897 Berkley Street in Morganton. Detectives reportedly found items inside the home that are consistent with methamphetamine production, and the distribution of illegal controlled substances.

Because of the hazardous nature of meth labs and the potential of an explosion, a hazardous waste disposal team with the SBI was dispatched to dismantle and clean up the site.

Members of the Burke County Narcotics Task Force, the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation, Brendletown Fire Department, Burke County EMS, and Burke County Sheriff's Office participated in the investigation.
