Find Another Meth Lab in Burke |
| |
| Deputies, responding to a missing person call on
Wednesday, stumbled upon the ingredients of an apparent methamphetamine
laboratory at a Morganton residence. |
| |
| As deputies searched the 2771 Hollybrook Lane
residence, they located items consistent with the manufacturing of the
dangerous drug, according to Investigator D.B. Dellinger of the Burke County
Narcotics Task Force. |
| |
| Deputies exited the residence upon finding the
drug-making ingredients and contacted the Task Force, who applied for a search
warrant and re-entered the home, along with agents with the N.C. State Bureau
of Investigation's Clandestine Response Team. |
| |
| Dellinger said the laboratory was one of the
most dangerous ones he had been associated with, due to the toxic reaction of
mixed chemicals found in the residence. |
| |
| SBI Special Agent C.M. Chambliss stated in
addition to the meth lab found in Burke, four more clandestine labs had been
discovered Wednesday in neighboring counties. |
| |
| Charges are pending in the investigation.
Assisting the Sheriff's Office, Narcotics Task Force and N.C. State Bureau of
Investigation were the Burke County EMS and Oak Hill Fire and
Rescue. |
