Drugs in Motel Room Lead to Woman's Arrest

A Maiden woman, out of jail on bond and awaiting trial in different counties for drug charges, is in hot water again after Burke County Narcotics Task Force officers reportedly found a quantity of crack cocaine in her eastern Burke County motel room.

Cindy Willis Woody (right), 35, of 1787 Union Street in Maiden was taken into custody without incident after a search of the motel room this morning, according to a task force officer.

Woody was also charged in October, 2002 with cocaine charges after authorities busted five persons, including Woody, again at an eastern Burke motel.

In the search this morning, investigators said they located drug paraphernalia, in addition to the crack cocaine.

Woody was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell and deliver. She was placed under a $10,000 secured bond and will have a first court appearance on November 1st.
