 |
Officers with
the Burke County Sheriff's Office and Valdese Police Department arrested a
Granite Falls man on November 3rd after reportedly finding stolen property in
his disabled car.
Officers had responded earlier to calls reporting
three car burglaries, and received another report of a suspicious vehicle seen
in the McGalliard Falls Park area near Valdese. |
|
| As officers arrived, they located a Mercury
Mystique with a flat tire in the roadway on McGalliard Falls Avenue, according
to reports. |
| |
| The occupants of the vehicle were questioned and
a search of the trunk revealed several items which had previously been reported
stolen, according to a Burke County Criminal Investigations Division press
release. |
| |
| Arrested was Jerry Edward Killian (above, left), 32, of 5737 Gunpowder Road in Granite
Falls. He was charged with three counts of breaking and entering of a motor
vehicle, and one count of possession of stolen goods. |
| |
| Killian was jailed under a $10,500 secured bond
and had a first court appearance on November 5th. |
