Woman's Former Handyman Accused in Burglary

A Morganton man, who reportedly did odd jobs in the past for a neighbor, is now accused of breaking into her home

According to Detective Chris Marsh of the Burke County Sheriff's Office, Johnny Lee Brown (left), 32, of 1375 Washboard Lane is the person responsible for burglarizing the home of his neighbor, Paulette Lewis. The offense occurred on October 26th, according to reports.

Marsh stated there was no forcible entry into the home, in which several undisclosed items were stolen. Brown was developed as a suspect, the detective said, and arrested shortly after he was questioned about the incident.

Brown was placed under a $10,000 secured bond and will have a first court appearance today. He is charged with felonious breaking, entering and larceny, and felonious possession of stolen property.
