| Anderson
Charged in Another Break-In |
| |
Sheriff John T. McDevitt
and detectives arrested a man on August 18th who they say broke into a Conley
Road home and stole firearms and jewelry.
Nicholas Ryan Anderson
(right), 24, of 106 Airpark Drive, Morganton was
free on bond on unrelated breaking and entering charges when he was apprehended
Thursday. He is accused of burglarizing the home of Robert Hensley of 2572
Conley Road, Morganton. |
 |
|
| Hensley reported the break-in to the Sheriff's
Office on August 17th. Investigators developed Anderson as a suspect early in
the case, and spent all day Thursday looking for him, according to Detective
Robert F. Beall. |
| |
| McDevitt spotted Anderson in a vehicle around 4
PM Thursday, approximately one mile from the spot of the break-in, Beall said.
The sheriff and officers arrested him without incident. |
| |
| Beall said detectives were able to recover eight
firearms, several pieces of jewelry and other items taken from Hensley's home.
Additional arrests in the case may be forthcoming. |
| |
| Anderson remains in the Burke County Jail under
a $20,000 secured bond. He had a first court appearance on Friday after being
charged with breaking, entering and larceny, felonious possession of stolen
goods, larceny of firearms, and possession of firearms by a felon. |
