| Two
Charged in Bollinger Loop Area Burglaries |
| |
 Brandon D. Barnette |
 Christina D. Mace |
|
| Burke County Sheriff's Office detectives believe
they have solved a rash of break-ins which occurred in the Highway 64/Bollinger
Loop area within the last month. |
| |
| Brandon DeLane Barnette, 26, of 3151 Luke Smith
Road, Morganton, and Christina Diane Mace, 26, of 4551 Pruett Drive, Morganton
have been charged with felonious breaking, entering and larceny, and felonious
possession of stolen goods. |
| |
| An investigator with the Sheriff's Office said
that multiple residences in the Bollinger Loop area were burglarized, and
Barnette and Mace were developed as suspects early in the case. |
| |
| Barnette was arrested on December 6th, and Mace
was arrested on December 2nd. Both suspects have confessed to the crimes,
according to authorities. |
| |
| Property stolen from the burglaries was
recovered in both Burke County and McDowell County, the detective said.
McDowell County Sheriff's Office and their Narcotics Division assisted in the
recovery. |
| |
| The two suspects had first court appearances
earlier this week and were released after posting bail bonds of $10,000. They
are facing grand jury indictments at a later date, the detective
stated. |
| |
| The Burke County Sheriff's Office is also
investigating vehicle and residential break-ins in the Scott Road/Jamestown
Road area. Detectives are investigating several suspects, but request anyone
with information contact the Criminal Investigations Division at (828)
438-5506, or Crimestoppers at (828) 437-3333. |
