Rabies Clinic Sites and Dates Announced
 
The Burke County Animal Control Division has announced that clinics will be held later this month to vaccinate animals for rabies. 
 
According to North Carolina General Statute 130A-185, the owner of every dog and cat over four months of age must have their animal vaccinated against rabies. 
 
The schedule for the clinics are:
  • May 30th-6:30 PM...Salem Elementary School (Dr. Anton)
  • May 31st-6:30 PM...K-Mart (Dr. Hemstreet)
  • June 1st-6:30 PM...Hallyburton Elementary School (Dr. McMahon)
  • June 2nd-5:00 PM...George Hildebrand Elementary School (Dr. Zebley)
 
Should rain occur, the clinic(s) will be cancelled and no make-up day will be scheduled.  
 
The vaccination fee will be $7 per animal for the week at any of the clinics or veterinarian offices.
