| Vanhorn Violates Order, Arrested
for Kidnapping |
| |
An estranged husband,
served last July with a domestic violence process ordering him to stay away
from his wife, was jailed Tuesday for allegedly kidnapping the
woman.
The Burke County Sheriff's Office received a call that J.D.
Elliott Vanhorn, Jr. (right), 26, of 5660 George
Hildebran School Road, Connelly Springs had forced his wife, Tanya into a
vehicle near Hwy. 70 and 3rd. St. SW in Hildebran. |
 |
|
| The caller gave
investigators a description of the vehicle, which was spotted a short time
later by deputies on Johnson Bridge Road. |
| |
| The deputies stopped the
vehicle, and Vanhorn was taken into custody as his estranged wife escaped the
vehicle, an investigator said. |
| |
| Vanhorn was taken to the
Sheriff's Office and questioned, then booked for first degree kidnapping and
violation of a domestic violence order. His bond was set at $75,000. |
| |
| During a first court
appearance Wednesday, a judge increased the man's bond to $85,000. He remains
in the Burke County Jail. |
