Woman Jailed for Stabbing 16-Year-Old

Detectives charged a 27-year-old Hildebran woman Sunday with stabbing a 16-year-old girl several times during a disturbance.

The girl, Amanda Kay Huffman, remains in the hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

Tammy Marie Bollinger (left), of 508 4th Street Place SW was jailed under a $5,000 secured bond and will have a first court appearance today.

"The girls were previously friends, but had been arguing as of late," said Burke County Detective David South. "A fight between the two on Saturday escalated into the teenager being stabbed."

Deputies responded to a disturbance call at Bollinger's residence, and found Huffman suffering from stab wounds to her chest, face, arm, and back. She was treated at the scene and transported to Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory.

South said the girl sustained at least eight stab wounds. He would not disclose the weapon type, or whether it had been recovered.

Bollinger was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and jailed at the Burke Catawba District Confinement Facility. She was released on bond Sunday afternoon.
