A 47-year-old man was jailed today after reportedly being caught in the act of stealing a riding lawn mower.

Neighbors of Jeff Brian Knox, who lives at 2746 Icard Rhodiss Road, Connelly Springs, called the Burke County Sheriff's Office after reportedly seeing a man steal Knox's mower.

Deputy Josh Ray responded to the 11:45 AM call
and located Harold Dean Kanupp (left, above), of 9066 Bowman Lowman Road, Hickory riding the mower, reports state.

Knox was able to identify the lawn mower as his, and Kanupp was arrested, according to authorities.
