| Woman Arrested for Bringing
Weapon to Court |

Betty
Gibson Reid, left, of Lenoir, NC was arrested at Burke County Superior
Court today for possession of a weapon on state property. |

| According to the report,
on January 8, 2007, at approximately 10:00 am, Betty Gibson Reid entered the
Burke County Court House. Reid approached the metal detector, deputies with the
Burke County Sheriff's Office performed a standard search of Reid's purse, and
located a .22 caliber revolver. |

| Reid was on her way to
the Superior Court Room where Bobby English was scheduled for a court
appearance. Investigators advised that English is accused of murdering Reid's
father, Henry "Red" Gibson, in February 2004. |

| Reid was taken into
custody and charged with one count of possession of a weapon on state property.

| She has been placed in
the Burke/Catawba Detention Facility under a $1,000.00 secured bond. Court date
is set for January 29, 2007. |
