Female Kidnapped and Assaulted

On May 15, 2007, at approximately 1630 hrs, the Burke County Sheriff's Office responded to 3241 Icard Church of God Rd., in reference to an alleged kidnapping and assault.

Timothy Allan Johnson, 21, right, of 142 38th St. NW, Hickory, NC has been charged with kidnapping and assault by strangulation.

Upon the deputy's arrival, the 16 year old female victim reported that her ex-boyfriend, Johnson, picked her up at her residence and told her he was going to pick up a puppy at his aunt's house in Mountain View. The victim said that instead he took her to an unknown location on Sugar Loaf Rd.

After arriving at the location, the suspect told the victim he wanted to talk with her, and she then requested that he take her home. The suspect became angry at this point and choked the victim with his right forearm until she fell unconscious.

The victim reported that when she woke up she was lying outside the vehicle, on the ground, with her ankles and wrists taped together. The suspect then produced a small caliber revolver and threatened to take his own life, and the victim's. The victim was able to talk with the suspect and convince him not to use the weapon. The suspect eventually removed the tape from the victim and returned her to her residence.

At approximately 2153 hrs, deputies located the suspect at 8566 Ledford Ave. off Rhodhiss Rd. The suspect was taken to the Burke County Sheriff's Office where he was interviewed by detectives. The suspect provided a written statement as to his involvement in the incident.

Timothy Allan Johnson was confined at the Burke Catawba Detention Facility under a $100,000.00 secured bond. First court appearance is scheduled for May 16, 2007.
