Local Elderly Man Missing - Updated with vehicle photograph
 
Bennett Lee Epley, 72, of 115 Bennett Epley Lane, Morganton, has been missing since July 30, 2007.

His description is as follows:

Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 240 lbs
Hair: Gray
Eyes: Brown 
 
Mr. Epley is believed to have left his residence in a 1997 red over silver Dodge Dakota extended cab four wheel drive pickup truck, bearing license number KNJ-5718.

The photo to the left is an actual picture of Mr. Epley's truck.

There is a dent between the two doors on the passenger side of the truck.

 
On July 30, 2007, around 7:15 pm, the Burke County Sheriff's Office received a report of a missing person from Bennett Epley Lane.  Thelma Epley reported her husband, Bennett Lee Epley, had reportedly been missing since 9:00 am that morning.
 
Mrs. Epley stated that her husband is disabled and has numerous health problems. She also reported he is an avid hunter and fisherman, and he likes to visit various wooded areas in the county, to include the Table Rock area and the South Mountains area.
 
The Burke County Sheriff's Office is actively looking for Mr. Epley, and any information as to his whereabouts should be forwarded to the Sheriff's Office at (828) 438-5500.
