Randall Charles Sanders, 39, left, of 110 JR Tallent Road, Morganton, was arrested in Statesville by FBI agents after a two month search.

On Sunday, July 22, 2007, around 1:08 pm, Judith Melissa Shronce reported she was kidnapped by her husband, Randall Charles Sanders, at gunpoint and taken from her home to a cabin of Hwy 181.

Due to the pending felony charges in Georgia, for which Mr. Sanders was awaiting trial, the Burke County Sheriff's Office requested the assistance of the FBI. Local FBI agents obtained a federal warrant for the arrest of Mr. Sanders, and the Sheriff's Office worked closely with agents from the FBI in searching for Mr. Sanders.

On Wednesday, September 19, 2007, around 6:00 pm, a two month man hunt came to an end. Randall Charles Sanders was arrested by the FBI. Mr. Sanders was then turned over to the Burke County Sheriff's Office.
