Two Arrested in Larceny of Heat Pumps

 
On September 11, 2008, Carl Lawrence Wyatt, 30, right, of 420 Hickory Airport Rd. Lot 29, Hickory, NC was arrested for felony larceny and felony breaking entering and larceny.

Margie Irene Reece, 19, (picture not available) of 7375 Honeysuckle Dr., Hickory, NC was also arrested the same day for accessory after the fact to a felony.
 
On September 11, 2008, Deputies with the Burke County Sheriff's office located two male subjects on the roof of Tompkin, Inc. on Hwy 70 in Hildebran.
 
These two male were found in possession of burglary tools. They were identified as Carl Lawrence Wyatt and Bobby Drake Gray. Both subjects admitted to being on the roof to steal copper wiring.
 
Detectives were notified and an investigation into the incident was opened. Through the cooperation of parties involved, it was determined who was responsible for the larceny of heat pumps from several local churches. These larcenies dated back to March 2008.
 
On September 17, 2008, Carl Lawrence Wyatt and Margie Irene Reece were arrested for larceny of the heat pumps from the churches. Wyatt was also charged with breaking and entering and larceny to a residence, and the attempted larceny of copper from Tompkin, Inc.
 
Reece was charged with accessory after the fact to a felony for her involvement in the larceny of the heat pumps.
 
Wyatt was placed in the Burke County Jail under a $26,000.00 secured bond. His first court appearance is Friday, September 19, 2008.
 
Due to Reece's age and medical condition she was released to the custody of her father.
 
The investigation is still under way and other arrests are forthcoming.
