Local
Man Arrested for Sexual Offenses |
Gary Adam Molesa, 64, of 7665 Woodland Hills Road, Hickory,
NC was arrested and charged with second degree statutory sexual offense of a
person who is 13, 14, or 15 years old, and taking indecent liberties with
children.

| On Wednesday,
October 29, 2008 the Burke County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations
Division was notified of an alleged sexual assault between the suspect and a
juvenile victim. |

| The
investigation began after a subject came forward producing a disturbing
photograph of the victim and the suspect. |
| |
| During the
investigation, detectives learned the victim had been sexually assaulted by the
suspect while at the suspect's residence located at 7665 Woodland Hills Road,
Hickory, NC. |
| |
| Investigators
also learned the suspect was actively involved in undisclosed youth
organizations throughout Burke County. |
| |
| The suspect
was arrested and charged with one count of taking indecent liberties with
children and one count of second degree statutory sexual offense of a person
who is 13, 14, or 15 years old. |
| |
| Detectives
with the Burke County Sheriff's Office and the Valdese Police Department
executed a search warrant on the suspect's residence and seized numerous items
from the home. |
| |
| Molesa will
have his first court appearance on Friday, October 31, 2008. He is under a
$100,000.00 secured bond. |
| |
| Investigators
suspect there is the possibility of more victims in this case. Investigators
are requesting any victims of Gary Adam Molesa to please contact the Burke
County Sheriff's Office. |

| The
investigation is continuing and more charges are forthcoming. |
