Asheville Woman Arrested for Puppy Fraud

On January 26, 2009, Princess Ashari Dimera, 42, of 201 Adams Hill Road # 19 Asheville, NC has been arrested and charged with felony obtaining property by false pretense.

Additional charges are possible, pending further investigation.
It was learned during the investigation that Dimera was placing ads online for the sale of West Highland Terrier puppies.
Dimera would promise that the puppies were AKC registered, up to date on shots, and checked by a veterinarian. The customers would then deposit money into Dimera's banking account.
When the puppies would be picked up, Dimera stated she would mail the paperwork promised to the customer. When the new owners arrived home they would discover the puppy was sick and would have to be hospitalized.

No paperwork was ever received by the customers. During the sale of the puppies, Dimera used the alias of "Linda Price."
The Burke County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division has only discovered one victim in Burke County; however several other victims have come forward with similar incidents involving Dimera.

If you are a victim of Dimera, please contact the Burke County Sheriff's Office at 828-438-5521.

Dimera was placed in the Burke/Catawba Detention Facility under a $5,000.00 secured bond. Her first court appearance is January 28, 2009.
