Two Burke Men Arrested for Avery Co. Breaking and Entering

 
On February 27, 2009, Nicholas Allen Epley, 29, right, and Chad Anthony Shelton (no photo), 26, were charged and arrested for felonious possession of stolen goods.

Epley was also charged by the Burke County Narcotics Task Force with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
On February 24, 2009, the Criminal Investigations Division of the Burke County Sheriff's Office received a call from the Avery County Sheriff's Office requesting assistance on a recent breaking and entering and larceny that occurred in their jurisdiction.
 
Detectives from both the Avery County and Burke County Sheriff's Offices worked for several days, following up leads on the stolen property from the incident that occurred in Avery County on February 17, 2009.
 
Information was received by detectives that led them to a home on Bennett Road, where Nicholas Allen Epley resides. A search warrant for the home was obtained by the Avery County Sheriff's Office, and was served on February 27, 2009, with assistance from the Burke County Sheriff's Office.
 
Once inside the home, stolen property was located from the Avery County breaking and entering, and also drug paraphernalia.
 
Mr. Epley was placed in the Avery County Jail under a $2,000.00 secured bond. His first appearance is scheduled for March 6, 2009.
 
Mr. Shelton was also placed in the Avery County Jail under a $2,000.00 secured bond, with a first appearance of March 6, 2009.
