Arrest Made in Break-in to a Local
Business |

| Christopher
Garland Collins, 27, of 4176 Valley Trail, Morganton, NC has been
arrested and charged with felony first degree burglary to a residence, and
breaking and entering and larceny and possession of stolen goods to a
business. |

| On November
24, 2009, at approximately 4 a.m., Nancy Presnell was awakened by the sound of
someone in her home. Presnell got out of bed and opened her bedroom door and
found a subject in the hallway. |

| The subject
was claiming to have a knife, demanding guns and cash. The subject eventually
left without receiving anything from Presnell. |
| |
| The following
night, on November 25, 2009, a subject entered Belle Farm, located at 3851
Kathy Road in Morganton, NC, and removed approximately $1,600.00 worth of goods
from the business. |
| |
| While inside
the business, the subject also attempted to pry open a drink machine, but was
unsuccessful. |
| |
| On December
8, 2009, a customer of Belle Farm notified the owner of the business that a
subject was attempting to sell similar items on the "swap shop." |
| |
| Investigators
received this information from the owner of Belle Farm and were able to recover
all of the stolen knives. |
| |
| Christopher
Garland Collins has been charged with both of these crimes and was placed in
the Burke Catawba Detention Facility. His bonds were set in the amount
$1,000.00 for the first degree burglary, and $5,000.00 for the breaking and
entering and larceny to Belle Farm. |
