| |
| Numerous
victims in the Hildebran area had reported to the Burke County Sheriff's Office
that their residences were broken into and property removed. These cases were
turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division. |
| |
| On December
1, 2009, all three subjects were stopped in a vehicle in the Long View, NC area
by detectives. The vehicle stop occurred directly after the last break-in,
which had not yet been reported. |
| |
| At that time,
Weaver was the only occupant taken into custody for an outstanding warrant.
Detectives were also able to recover some of the stolen property. |
| |
| Further
investigation led to the recovery of additional stolen property and the arrest
of Stamey and Whitener. |
| |
| All three
subjects are currently in custody and are awaiting court
appearances. |
| |
| Weaver has
already been charged previously this year with several other break-ins in the
Hildebran area. Weaver and Stamey are also facing charges for breaking and
entering and larceny by Long View Police Department. |
